21st National Open Art Exhibition 2017
The Private Viewing of the 21st NOA Exhibition was held on Friday 17th November at the Bargehouse, Oxo Tower Wharf, Southbank, London SE1 9PH. This extraordinary and atmospheric building was an exciting historic location for winners and finalists of the competition to see their artwork displayed. It was a valuable opportunity too to meet other contributing artists attending such an enjoyable and vibrant event.
Prizes were awarded by NOA Vice President, Gavin Turk, across a wide range of artwork including photography, painting, drawing, printwork, installations, digital art and the moving image.
I attach photos taken at the exhibition, and one from the top of the Oxo Tower at night. London as ever looked stunning!
The exhibition runs until 26th November 2017. Further details can be found at www.nationalopenart.org.
May Days Arts Trail
The Hayling Island leg of the May Days Arts Trail always gives local artists the opportunity to exhibit their work in studios, workshops and homes across the region. It’s a great chance to meet friends new and old and catch up with the artwork of so many dedicated painters, sculptors, jewellery makers and craftspeople locally.

G1Art, Cumbria House, Broad Street, Windermere, LA23 2AB
A recent visit to Windermere confirmed GlArt as vibrant as ever, and continuing to flourish. An absorbing diversity of artwork greets you in this most welcoming and innovative of galleries. Well worth calling in if you are in the Lake District, to experience and enjoy the energy of GlArt for yourself.
(Kindly note G1Art is now in the process of moving to new premises locally. Please watch this space!)
Riverside Exhibition, York
I enjoyed holding an exhibition of paintings at the Riverside Cafe-Bar, part of the City Screen Cinema complex, at Coney Street, York, YO1 9QL. Huge thanks go to my son Dave (Scott) for co-ordinating this for me, and to Adam Keay for facilitating the exhibition. This venue is a popular meeting place overlooking the river in the heart of the city. It was great to have the opportunity to be part of such a vibrant community there (and take advantage of the excellent refreshments too!).
The Art Cafe, Whitby, YO21 3BB
The Art Cafe is certainly a visit worth making and a warm welcome is guaranteed at this unique venue. The refurbished, modern and airy gallery is accessed on three floors in an open planned design, and displays a fine selection of contemporary paintings, textiles, ceramics and associated artwork. We can also highly recommend the excellent coffee, cakes and other refreshments available in the cafe on the first floor!

With many thanks to good friend Raj Choudhury who set up and gives me much appreciated assistance with this website.
Welcome to my website
I’m pleased to know you have reached my website and hope you enjoy browsing through the paintings added to my collection. Most of these have been completed in my garden workshop affectionately referred to as The Old Beehive Studio, being situated next to one of Granddad’s original beehives, handmade and surviving two world wars; always a good direction to turn for inspiration before a painting begins.
I am pleased to say that this has proved to be another enjoyable and successful year, and sales abroad have now extended to Holland, Nigeria, Dubai and Australia. I am particularly grateful to all the galleries which exhibit and sell on my behalf in the UK and who have helped to inspire and support my work over the years – a special mention goes to Ken & Chris at G1Art, Windermere, and David & Judith at The Art Cafe, Whitby. Also my thanks to Chris at Canvas Gallery,Winchester, on whose website a selection of my paintings are displayed.
Do contact me if you would like any further information about my artwork. I shall be happy to answer any questions you may have.
